I first met Lauren just after we started our freshman year at Georgia Tech in the fall of 2016. I remember first being introduced to her by my lab partner, who happened to be Lauren’s freshman year roommate. Even though our first interaction was nothing more than a few words, I still remember coming away knowing that something about Lauren was different and that I wished to get to know her more.

Despite Lauren not remembering our first interaction (she’ll admit to this), we still quickly became friends. Through study groups, tailgates, and other events we really got to know each other well through the remainder of our first semester. Things finally came to a head when I asked Lauren to go to formal with me in February of 2017. A few days before the event, we went out to dinner together and by the time we were back we were officially a couple!

From there the rest was history, and we were attached at the hip for the remainder of our time at Georgia Tech. We both remained in Atlanta after college, and, just over seven years after that first meeting, I asked her to marry me!
